NBA: West’s Cellar-Dwellers Out to Halt Their Barren Runs

The Clippers, Kings, and Mavericks are among the worst teams in the NBA right now, which is not what they envisioned heading into the 2025-26 campaign. It has been so bad for them that the league-best Thunder have more wins than they have combined. However, it’s not too late for them to turn things around, and they can start by winning their games tomorrow against the Hawks, Rockets, and Heat.

The NBA 2025 odds make it virtually impossible for them to win the Larry O’Brien trophy this year, but qualifying for the playoffs is not yet out of the question if they go on a positive run of NBA 2025 results.

Elsewhere, the Cavaliers, Pacers, Magic, Knicks, Bulls, and Bucks will host the Blazers, Nuggets, Spurs, Hornets, Nets, and Pistons to round out tomorrow’s nine-game schedule.

Without further ado, continue reading below, as SBOTOP previews tomorrow’s games involving these three sides.

LA Clippers @ Atlanta Hawks

The Clippers’ losing streak has reached five games, after their 140-123 loss to the Heat on Monday night, as Norman Powell dropped 30 points against his former team.

Kawhi Leonard did all he could by recording 36 points, seven rebounds, and three steals on 12-for-21 shooting from the field and 9-for-10 shooting from the free throw line, but it was all for naught. Ivica Zubac, Kris Dunn, James Harden, John Collins, and Kobe Sanders added 16, 12, 11, 10, and 10 points, respectively.

On the other hand, the Hawks have won four of their last six, but they’re fresh from a narrow 99-98 loss against the East-leading Pistons on Monday night, as Cade Cunningham scored eight of his 18 points in the final 3:21, and Jalen Johnson failed to tip the ball home in the final play of the match.

Johnson led Atlanta with 29 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and four three-pointers on 9-for-17 shooting from the field. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Onyeka Okongwu, and Dyson Daniels contributed 26, 20, and 10 points.

The Hawks are still without Trae Young (knee) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness) tomorrow. Young will be re-evaluated by the team’s medical staff in two weeks, while Porzingis could return on Friday night against the Nuggets.

Betting tip – Atlanta Hawks Asian Handicap -3.50 @ 1.97

Sacramento Kings @ Houston Rockets

The Kings are out to end their three-game losing streak when they meet the Rockets for the first time this season. Sacramento are fresh from a 115-107 loss to Memphis last Sunday, with Domantas Sabonis (knee) still a long-term absentee.

DeMar DeRozan top-scored for the Kings with 23 points, four assists, and three steals on 9-for-17 shooting from the field in 35 minutes. Malik Monk came off the bench and had 21 points. Zach LaVine, Keegan Murray, and Precious Achiuwa added 19, 12, and 11 points. Sacramento were also without starter Dennis Schroder (hip), who is questionable to play tomorrow.

According to reports, general manager Scott Perry is keen on blowing up the Kings if they don’t turn things around soon and will likely start their rebuilding phase by trading either DeRozan, Sabonis, and LaVine. Murray, meanwhile, is viewed as a franchise cornerstone.

Defeating the Rockets is a tall task, as Houston have won eight of their last 10. Ime Udoka’s men split their last two games against the Jazz.

In the 133-125 defeat last Monday, Alperen Sengun notched 31 points, eight rebounds, 14 assists, two steals, and five blocks. Kevin Durant top-scored with 32 points. Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith Jr., and Aaron Holiday added 23, 12, and 10 points.

Betting tip – Houston Rockets Asian Handicap -16.00 @ 2.04

Miami Heat @ Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks finally had their first winning streak of the season after their upset road win against the Nuggets on Monday. In the 131-121 outcome, Anthony Davis scored a season-high 32 points on 13-for-23 shooting in his second game back from injury and added 13 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.

Dallas also witnessed the coming-out party of undrafted rookie Ryan Nembhard, who had 28 points, three rebounds, 10 assists, and four three-pointers on 12-for-14 shooting. Cooper Flagg and Klay Thompson followed suit with 24 and 15 points.

The Heat have won seven of their last eight, including their recent rout of the Clippers. As mentioned, Norman Powell scored 30 points, three rebounds, three assists, and six three-pointers on 12-for-18 shooting from the field. Bam Adebayo, Andrew Wiggins, Tyler Herro, and Davion Mitchell added 27, 22, 22, and 16 points.

Betting tip – Miami Heat Asian Handicap -4.50  @ 2.03
